Me and my family, go to the "culto" to pray and give our thanks to God on Sundays, saints days, weddings and funerals...

Religion is an important part of our lives. I know that for the payos it is different. They don't seem to live it as we do and they don't go to church as much as we do. Some teenagers get home very late and have lots of boyfriends and girlfriends before getting married. I suppose this isn't just about religion, it's sort of general morals too isn't it? I'm not saying Roma ideas are the best but, I like ours better. I think we're stricter in lots of things.

Roma law is dealt with by the old wise men from the community. Some things, like our really strong sense of honour, are more important for us than the written law of the payos. I suppose some people may not like that, but that's how it's been for hundreds of years.
