| I think that the most typical dish in Catalonia is 'pà amb tomaca' (bread with tomato and oil), at least this is what I had there for breakfast every day, accompanied with 'butifarra', 'fuet' or 'pernil' (varieties of pork). The oil and the wine in Catalonia are very good. If you travel round the area you can see lots of vineyards where they also cultivate 'cava' (a variety of champagne). When my parents got together with their friends they sometimes drink wine 'del porró' (from a typical bottle). I like to watch them to do that when we go there on summer holidays.
Another typical dish is 'escudella'. It is soup with beans, vegetables, 'butifarra' (pork) and potatoes. I love to eat it sometimes in the winter because it is usually very hot. Fish there is also very good and I still eat a lot of fish every day. |
